The laboratory of Philip Lazarus, PhD, is seeking a Research Support Specialist to support research focusing on the general areas of metabolism, gene-environment interactions, and pharmacogenetics, spanning the spectrum of cancer causation, prevention and treatment as well as drug addiction. Applicants should have a basic working knowledge of conducting laboratory experiments and will be expected to help in lab management and participate in the carrying out of research projects, protocols and experiments.
Job Duties:
- Set up, calibrate, operate and maintain laboratory equipment and scientific instrumentation.
- Assess laboratory inventory and order lab supplies and equipment as necessary.
- Perform research activities including assisting with data analysis and interpretation.
- Maintain detailed lab records and scientific data including working with graduate students and postdocs/research scholars to maintain appropriate lab records.
- Instruct personnel on the safe use of laboratory supplies and equipment.
- Other duties as assigned
