The
Department of Medicine within the
Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences seeks a Programmer / Analyst. In this role as a Programmer / Analyst you will under direct supervision, assist in development, maintenance and testing of large database and basic applications. Prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Design, code, test and debug programs. Maintain and document those programs.
Support statistical and programming efforts for federally funded research projects
- Performs statistical and database programming in current languages such as Python and SQL.
- Designs, codes, tests, debugs, modifies and documents operating systems from detailed instructions and specifications
- Receives formal training and on-the-job instruction in conjunction with a progression of increasingly more difficult work assignments involving the flow charting, coding, debugging and documentation of application programs.
- Assists in preparing detailed specifications from which programs will be written.
Design and develop analysis and visualization program solutions
- Participates in system analysis of a narrow scope.
- Analyzes user needs and develop software solutions.
- Provides application software development services or technical support typically in a defined project.
- Analyzes requirements and maintains tests and integrates application components.
Support broader research efforts
- Assist in the preparation of study results for manuscripts to medical journals and presentations at medical conferences.
- All other duties as assigned.
