Lead Security Analyst
Reporting to the Director of Information Security, the Lead Security Analyst (Managing Assistant Director 1) will play a critical role in protecting the University's digital assets by focusing on proactive threat monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, and security compliance. This position also does related work as required. As the team leader, the Lead Security Analyst will mentor junior analysts. This position requires strong technical acumen, leadership skills, and the ability to communicate effectively across teams.
This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours. This is not a remote position and requires physical presence on campus as determined by the Supervisor.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college and three or more years of professional experience in IT, network security, endpoint protection, and/or incident response is required. Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute required experience on a year-for-year basis. Candidate must have proficiency in vulnerability management, penetration testing, and security tool administration (e.g., SIEM, IDS, EDR); strong understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, HIPAA); and have excellent mentorship, leadership and communication skills. Preferred qualifications include professional certifications (CompTIA Security+, etc.) and knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for process automation.
