The Tufts Career Center provides comprehensive career development assistance to undergraduates, graduate students, and alumni of Arts, Sciences, Engineering, and the SMFA at Tufts. We provide individual coaching, online resources, workshops, alumni and career panels, career and internship fairs, and networking opportunities with alumni and employers. Through the campus recruiting program, the Career Center works closely with recruiters/employers to arrange events, job & internship postings, resume collections and interviews. The Career Center offers extensive web resources in the form of webinars and virtual workshops, subscription tools, and industry-specific career community resources.

What You'll Do

This is a hybrid role expected to be on campus 1-2 days each week and also must be available evenings and weekends as needed for programs and events. This is an academic year position and is also part-time at 17.5 hours per week. This role is benefits eligible.


The Assistant Director of Career Services provides expert advising services and programming to students and alumni interested in pursuing careers and/or advanced degrees in business/finance. The Assistant Director will

work with the Director of the Tufts Finance Initiative and the Career Center Marketing Specialist to build content for the Finance/Consulting/Entrepreneurship/Business Community on the Career Center Website.


What We're Looking For

Basic Requirements:

  • Knowledge and skills as typically acquired by a Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years directly related professional experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to provide career and job search coaching to students
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; experience working with and advising diverse student population at a liberal arts college
  • Ability to work with high-level executives, large scale donors and trustees, hiring managers, and students of all ages and backgrounds
  • Demonstrated event and project management, organizational, customer service and problem-solving skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree/Advanced Degree
  • Progressive responsibility in advising or career services focused on business, finance and consulting.
  • Demonstrated skill in conducting mock case interviews with students.
  • Experience in project management and event planning.
  • Experience in data collection/analysis and assessment
  • Working knowledge of behavioral techniques for student interview preparation.
