Department Summary
The University of North Texas (UNT) in Denton, Texas is a Tier 1 Research Institution with over 100 Biological Research Laboratories and a fast-growing Biomedical Engineering Department housed in a newly built state of the art facility. Risk Management Services’ programs provide proactive support for the strategic, operational, and financial foundation of the University of North Texas. We help identify, analyze, and mitigate risks to prevent loss and provide a safe and healthy campus environment so that the UNT community can freely pursue opportunities for growth and advancement. To achieve our goals, we work together with the UNT community to help them proactively manage risks, implement preventative measures, plan for their challenges, and work through any issues that occur.

Position Overview
This position is responsible for administrative and technical work in support of Risk Management Service functions including insurance contract administration and claims management. Administers Athletic medical enrollments and claims, through successful resolution and payment. Assists with developing and maintaining written procedures and forms for risk management, insurance and claims processes. May provide in-service education on insurance topics as needed an/or requested.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s Degree and four years of office administration or business management experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of the principles, practices, and methods of the Risk Management field.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to manage time, personnel, financial and physical resources effectively.
  • Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.

Preferred Qualifications
Associates’ degree and four years of office administration or business management experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
