Applies professional concepts to perform moderate to complex financial or resource analysis to understand past performance and determine present and future performance and /or resource allocations.
FP&A support for certain department budgets. Budgeting/Planning/Forecasting for Centers & Institutes and other core Haas operational department (as assigned).
Provides analytical support for complex budget, financial, or resource analysis projects.
Annual Budget: Develop, coordinate, and implement Haas annual budget - includes coordinating CalPlanning activities with internal budget processes.
Forecast and Quarterly Review Process: Work with team members and unit leaders to develop a full year forecast (first half actuals, second half forecast) which will give insight to executive management on how we are doing vs. budget and if we need to course correct.
Fiscal and Monthly Close: Lead/Coordinate fiscal and monthly close activities with input and support from rest of the finance team.
Provide support on financial analyses to help support Haas' strategic plan.
Coordinates and implements department budget allocations. Conceives of and maintains department chart of accounts, other data management tools, and related business processes.
Coordinate deficit clearing (Centers & Institutes) with an emphasis on spending restricted funds.
Work with Research Administrators to manage Contract & Grant Funding.
Haas Roster maintenance (C&I portion)- (use for budget and forecast purposes).
Funding entries and direct retros.
Aid in monthly suspense account clean-up.
Gathers information, analyzes, prepares and summarizes recommendations for financial and /or resource plans, including annual resource allocation approaches, trended future requirements, operating forecasts, sources and uses, etc.
Work with CFO and Finance manager to develop a report for:
Haas Center & Institutes financials for Haas Executive Committee meeting.
Financial report as per request from Associate Dean for Academic Affairs (ADAA).
Other executive meetings (as applicable).
Provides department support in the areas of business process analysis and design, system or procedure testing and implementation, documentation, security, workflow, and customer feedback.
Documents procedures for financial activities.
Ensures that the appropriate internal controls are addressed, maintained and strengthened to protect University resources.
Prepares, reviews, and / or approves financial transactions.

Advanced working experience with Microsoft Excel functions and formulas, MS Office Suite & Google Suite, and other business related softwares.
In-depth experience using multiple spreadsheet and database software tools to gather information for specialized, complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports, including budget preparation and program fees.
Strong inter-personal skills, political acumen and skills in gaining the respect of others, influencing people of varying levels of authority in multiple organizations, and eliciting cooperation without direct authority.
Strong cross-functional experience in finance, GAAP accounting, and technology.
Proven track record of multitasking success and a strong customer focus (makes customer needs a priority, practices active listening, engages collaboratively with a broad, multi-audience constituency).
Excellent project and time management skills to break down objectives into tasks, scheduling tasks, and resources to meet objectives.
Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating a desire to promote diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging to establish and maintain positive & professional working relationships with colleagues, students and team members.

Salary & Benefits
This is a 1-yr, 100% full-time (40 hrs a week) exempt position, which is paid monthly and eligible for full UC Benefits with the possibility of extension. Annual salary is commensurate within the range of $85,350.00 - $101,500.00.
