Job Description:
The project manager will work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) to provide administrative support to multiple projects, including coordinating project activities, communicating with higher education and K-12 partners, managing very large volumes of financial transactions and purchasing of project-related materials, and event planning.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate project activities
Plan events such as Academies, Meetings, Conferences and Workshops (which can take place on weekends)
Communicate with partner organizations (school districts, Colleges, Universities and industry)
Gather information for the preparation of annual reports to the NSF
Manage project budgets, including:
Serve as liaison between the PI and the staff of Grants and Contracts Accounting at TU
Prepare information needed for issuance of subcontracts to collect invoices from all partners
Process purchase orders and requisitions
Coordinate travel logistics and travel reimbursements for students, K-12 teachers and faculty members
Manage all financial aspects of meetings, workshops, and conferences.
Order supplies, receive, and maintain inventory listing
Communicate with other staff, faculty, administrators, and general public
Perform other program management duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator
Be willing to work on certain weekends (both Saturdays and Sundays) during the year.
Qualifications:
Minimum of a Master’s degree
Minimum of 10 years experience in, pre-award and post-award management
Minimum of 3 years experience in serving as a Project Manager
Previous experience working in an institute of higher education
Knowledge of policies and procedures related to federal and non-federal funding.
Working knowledge of modern office practices and procedures
Working knowledge of various computer software programs such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience with website managing software is not required, but is preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Salary
