Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT Basic) responds to emergency calls to provide efficient and immediate care to the critically ill and injured, and to transport the patient to a medical facility. Receives calls from the dispatcher and drives the ambulance to address or location given, using the most expeditious route, depending on traffic and weather conditions. The Firefighter/EMT-B must observe traffic ordinances and regulations concerning emergency vehicle operation.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- National Registry Certified
- One year experience as an EMT Basic
- CPR Certified
- Considerations will be given to students who are attending The National Register Class for EMT Basic and can obtain their National Certification within 1 year
