The Department of Housing and Residence Life at the University of North Texas is a growing organization which serves nearly 6,300 students in 15 residence halls. Our department is organized into the following areas: housing operations, residence life, and financial administration. The Assistant Director for Community Standards and Recognition position manages a residential area including direct supervision of 2-4 Community Directors, indirect supervision of graduate and undergraduate student staff, and oversight of student crisis and behavioral concerns. This position also coordinates departmental operational functions in such areas as recruitment, selection and/or training of professional or student staff, conduct and community standards oversight, and student group advising.

Bachelor’s Degree in related field and four years of professional related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications: 3-4 years of professional experience in housing and residence life, including at least 2 years as a conduct officer, and at least 2 years of undergrad or grad student supervision and at least 1 year of professional supervision experience with Maxient or similar conduct databases. Experience working at a HSI/MSI and proficiency or familiarity with Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba
