Are you a developer interested in blockchains, Cybersecurity intelligence sharing and their real-world applications?
We are now looking for a student to participate in development work at Aalto University’s PHOENIX project. In this position you will have a chance to make an impact by developing a real-world Cybersecurity intelligence sharing platform utilizing blockchains.
PHOENIX (https://phoenix-h2020.eu/) is a European Union H2020 project offering a cyber-shield armor to the European European Electrical Power and Energy System (EPES) to mitigate coordinated, large scale cybersecurity and privacy incidents; and subsequently guarantee the continuity of operations and minimize cascading effects in the infrastructure and the end-users. The PHOENIX platform will be piloted in five large scale pilots.
In this position you will work on interesting and challenging real-world problems using cutting-edge technologies, together with experts all around the Europe.
Your role and goals
The work is related to the development and evaluation of PHOENIX Framework components
that interact with blockchains and cybersecurity intelligence sharing platforms, and/or the development of proof-of-concept smart contracts for PHOENIX Communication Layer
using Quorum, Hyperledger Fabric, and other suitable distributed ledgers. The potential topics for this summer job include (but are not limited to):
Your network and team
- Development and evaluation of PHOENIX framework components (both backend and smart contract development).
- Development and evaluation of business platforms (utilizing blockchains approaches) for various scenarios.
The work will be done in co-operation with Aalto’s PHOENIX team and other PHOENIX partners. The PHOENIX project consists of over 25 industrial and academia partners in 10 different countries (Germany, France, Spain, Italy, etc) including companies (Thales, Atos, Capgemini, etc.), SMEs, universities and public utilities.
Your experience and ambitions
We except applicants to have:
Bachelor degree in computer science or related field
Good programming skills
Solid experience with Python and Web service backend development
Experience with distributed service design and API specification
Good knowledge of written and spoken English
Ability to work in an international environment
This position enables work on novel technologies including blockchains in international, real-life environment.
