Teaching Innovations Specialist, SPHHP Dean's Office

Position Summary
Main job duties can be best separated into three primary areas: 1) course content and innovation 2) accreditation for programs and tracking accreditation standards 3) adjunct and new faculty support.
Key responsibilities:
- Work closely with faculty to transform both in-class and online courses to be interactive and engaging for students, and to provide guidance in the development of new courses and programs.
- Supporting adjunct and new faculty in developing their teaching skills. Assist faculty in integration of other new instructional methods, support in-class observations and provide guidance on ways to improve course delivery and improve teaching outcomes.
- Collaborate with faculty on all aspects of course design including identification of learning goals and objectives, curricular alignment, identifying teaching strategies, creation of learning activities, and assessment of student learning.
- Collaborate with content experts, program administrators, IT support staff, subject librarians, graphics specialists, multimedia developers, and other instructional designers for the consistent delivery of exemplary courses.
- Provide ways to share with the faculty with the necessary tools and guidance in order to adopt new technology.
- Participate in the development and delivery of training and orientation programs for students and faculty when appropriate.
- Cross-training with other team members.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s with 2 years of experience in a related field OR a Masters degree in a relevant disciple.
- Experience in instructional design and working closely with faculty to transform courses, develop new online and distance courses, promote accessibility, and assist faculty to gain skills necessary to design effective courses.
- Team player, willing to work in various levels of the organization, focusing on improving outcomes for the entire School and University.
Preferred Qualifications
- Earned doctorate in related area, graduate level teaching experience; 3 years experience in developing/implementing courses in a post-secondary academic setting.
- Qualified in instructional design, assessment of student learning, curriculum development.
- Support in an online or in person learning environments.
- Expertise in areas related to public health and health professions.
