Online Admissions Counselor *Two Positions*

 

The Online Admissions Counselor (Professional Services Specialist 4) reports to the Associate Director of Online Admissions and KEANetwork and is responsible for actively recruiting online students. The Online Admissions Counselor represents the University at recruiting activities and events; performs basic professional functions using established policies, procedures, precedents and guidelines; and does related work as required. The Online Admissions Counselor provides essential student support services and excellent customer service to prospective and current Kean University students and their families. This position requires extensive travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours. This is not a remote position and requires physical presence on campus as determined by the Supervisor.

 

Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree; one year of professional experience in an enrollment management area in an institution of higher education or working directly with admissions, student recruitment and/or retention initiatives in a related field or professional experience in recruitment, marketing, sales or customer service is required. Transportation for recruitment travel and a driver’s license valid in the State of New Jersey is also required. A Master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for the one year of required experience. Previous recruiter experience in an admissions office in an institution of higher education is preferred. Datatel Colleague and Slate experience is also preferred. Essential job functions include driving and the ability to lift, handle and transport recruitment materials and equipment over short and long distances. Traveling will require the ability to drive for short and extended periods of time. Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
