Research Specialist for Academic Affairs
Under the direction of the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Research Specialist (Professional Services Specialist II) is responsible for data analytics and the gathering, assessment, cleaning and aggregating of academic data from academic departments and offices across the university. The Research Specialist works collaboratively with all staff in the Division of the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs as well as the Division of the Senior Vice President of Research, Institutional Research, Enrollment Management, Student Success and Retention, etc. Additionally, this role will develop and maintain metrics & reports, design data models, perform data analyses and assist with all communications originating from the Office. The Research Specialist will maintain direct contact with all academic departments, presenting at the Council of Deans and Presidential Cabinet meetings as needed on various topics related to assigned responsibilities. In addition, this position provides direct support to the Provost on all matters as assigned. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.
Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Master’s degree in International Affairs, Public Administration or a related field with a concentration in sustainability, resilience or a related area; three years of professional experience researching and analyzing data in an institution of higher education or a related field; expertise in specific funded US programs in other countries; and excellent primary and secondary research skills as evidenced by the completion of sustainability focused research at the thesis or capstone level is required. Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills and advanced knowledge and experience working with various databases including, but not limited to: Excel and Access.
