Position Summary
Parking and Transportation Services at the University at Buffalo is seeking a Mobility Manager to see through the following key accountabilities and responsibilities:

Leadership & Management: Provides leadership and supervision to the team that delivers shuttle services on the University’s South and Downtown Campuses; this involves supervising a team of six (6) motor vehicle (shuttle) operators. Assists with oversight and management of campus transportation infrastructure, monitoring shuttle fleet maintenance, and developing route and schedule efficiencies. Communicates quality standards to all appropriate staff, setting standards of service excellence in all areas.
Transit Operations Management: Assists with oversight of the Campus Transit Services contract (UB Stampede), comprised of 45,000 serves hours annually, currently operating 22 hours a day, 7 days a week. Works closely with third party vendor to ensure daily staffing levels are as required, and service quality issues are addressed and improved. Monitors bus and shuttle departures for timeliness and efficiency and serves as liaison between transit staff and UB’s Assistant Director of Transportation Services.
Service Quality Assessment, Metrics, & Reporting: Responsible for transit service quality and assessments thereof. This includes conducting focus group conversations, administering surveys, interpreting the data, writing reports, and following up on findings that require attention. In addition, will conduct on-board surveys at minimum twice per semester, with the aim of developing and maintaining strong relationships with the customer base that utilizes buses, shuttles, bikeshare, and other mobility services. Feedback and reports generated from said surveys and interactions with staff and customers will serve to enhance both the employee and customer experience.
Vision and New Program Development: Serves as a lead of departmental efforts to add new and innovative transportation demand management programs. Will be tasked with starting and managing future agreements with industry partners (i.e., Uber, Lyft, Via). Experience with RFP development and subsequent vendor/contract management is desired. Will be knowledgeable with respect to current and emerging mobility-related technology, and keep abreast of trends (i.e. autonomous shuttles and other future of mobility service offerings).
Campus Committees: Represents Parking and Transportation on committees as the need arises.
