Position Information
 
As a member of the College’s Human Resources Department, the Compensation Analyst II is responsible for supporting the full scope of activities associated with the College-wide development, administration and communication of competitive, internally equitable and legally compliant compensation policies, procedures, and programs. This position provides expertise in the evaluation of positions, job reclassifications, and salary recommendations, while fostering collaborative relationships within the College to ensure the successful administration and execution of compensation programs.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Analyze, design, and administer the College’s compensation program.
  • Evaluate jobs and develop and maintain job descriptions and job architecture.
  • Process requests for compensation and classification review, which consists of analyzing requests for new positions, job reclassifications, promotions, stipends, etc.
  • Collaborate the the HRIS area and Budget department in creating new job codes and updating existing job codes in the HRIS system.
  • Gather and conduct comprehensive survey data analytics to most accurately market price positions.
  • Participate in compensation surveys to best support the College’s business objectives, including competitiveness in the marketplace.
  • Conduct research and analysis related to pay equity, compliance, and compensation trends.
  • Monitor and maintain the integrity of compensation-related data.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with managers and HR team members for successful evaluation, administration, and execution of compensation programs.
  • Provide leadership for the College’s annual increase process.
  • Serve as the first point of contact on general compensation and salary offer requests from HR recruiters.
  • Provides excellent customer service to internal stakeholders for matters related to compensation.
  • Collaborate with the Benefits department with the annual employee Total Compensation Statements.
  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team on salary offers.
  • Ensure compensation practices comply with federal and state laws and the College’s collective bargaining agreements.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the area of compensation required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the administration of compensation programs required.
  • Knowledge of compensation-related laws and regulations.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; proficient problem solving skills to identify
    issues, analyze situations, and contribute to successful outcome.
  • Ability to work independently and resourcefully against deadlines and exercise a high
    degree of judgment, discretion and confidentiality to accomplish job functions.
  • Strong proficiency using Microsoft Excel required.
  • Experience using an HR information system required.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Compensation experience within higher education is preferred.
  • Experience using a compensation system such as CompAnalyst/Salary.com is preferred.
  • Experience using Ellucian Banner and Tableau preferred.
