Position Summary

Cora P. Maloney Center (CPMC) seeks an energetic and highly professional Associate Director of CPMC and CULTURE. You will be a member of the Cora P. Maloney Center within the Office of Student Success and Academic Support, working with constituents to advance the university’s ambitious vision for excellence in students’ academic success and university retention. You will have oversight of the CULTURE Program and will be responsible for coordinating joint student programming efforts across all CPMC pre-college and undergraduate programs. This position will report directly to the Associate Vice Provost for Inclusion and Student Success.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and promote the Creating Undergraduate Learning Through Unity Resources and Equity (CULTURE) Program.
  • Coordinate joint student programming efforts across CPMC, in,cluding three pre-college programs (Liberty Partnerships Program (LPP), Science Technology and Entry Program (STEP), and Upward Bound); and six undergraduate programs, which includes CULTURE, Access to College Excellence (ACE), Daniel Acker Scholars, Collegiate Science Technology Entry Program (CSTEP), McNair Scholars and Student Support Services (SSS).
  • Conduct best practice research pertaining to historically underserved and low-income undergraduate students.
  • Search for local, regional, and national grant opportunities and assist with writing proposals for CPMC.
  • Recruit, hire, train and evaluate graduate assistants and undergraduate peer mentors.
  • Prepare semester and annual reports and analyses of projects, as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree and one (1) year professional experience at the college or university level.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including presenting to small and large groups.
  • Strong computer skills, with working knowledge of MS office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent critical thinking, strong organizational skills, and customer service experience.
  • Ability to work in a diverse environment exhibiting understanding, appreciation, and respect for all individuals.
  • Be eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship.
